Frequently Asked Questions
We are a private pay facility and do not accept insurance at this time. To avoid any “sticker shock” that comes with your therapeutic care, we seek to be fully transparent with our fees. Sessions cost $120 per 50 minute session and personal training costs $60 per hour. We are a private pay counseling practice so fees are paid in full at the time of service. Payment is accepted in the form of cash, check, or credit card (Visa & MasterCard). As a healthcare provider, we accept Health Savings Account (HSA) and Flexible Spending Account (FSA)
Absolutely! We prioritize resources for combat veterans, service members, first-responders, and the local Catholic and Christian community, but in so far as we have resources for you then you are welcome!
Some clients prefer to keep their mental health services private and separate from their insurance coverage. To maintain the upmost privacy and ensure a custom treatment plan for the longevity of care, St. George Counseling Center does not accept insurance at this time. We can, upon request, provide you with receipts and a coded visit bill (called “super bills”) which you may submit to your insurance company for out-of-network reimbursement if you choose. We encourage you to check with your insurance regarding the specifics of your policy.
We understand that therapy is needed, yet can be expensive. Seeking therapy now, however, can reduce costs associated with addiction, physical sickness, and other factors over the long-haul. An investment in one's own well-being now pays dividends for generations. Providing counseling is engrained into our social oriented mission, so we offer both pro-bono and a sliding scale to remove this hardship for select clients each year.

The first session is all about getting to know one another! It is common to feel anxious before and during your first session, because we've never met. The therapist might be a little nervous too, because they have never met you either! The beginning of therapy is all about building a safe and trusting relationship, and in this context we will explore the reasons that bring you to counseling.
The noted neuroscientist Jennifer Heisz is the director of the NeuroFit Lab at McMaster University, and she writes that physical exercise combats numerous mental health symptoms and encourages better sleep, resilience, and creativity (Move the Body, Heal the Mind. 2022). By exercising the body, we can heal our body, brain, mind, and souls. Exercise can eleviate depression and anxiety; it can tamper addiction and sleeplessness; and it keeps your brain young, creative, and focused. Rather than telling you to exercise, we provide the resources and the space to begin a healthy habit of exercise and self-care. The data is fiercely growing, that physical exercise and the outdoors enhances mental health care. It is not a replacement for psychotherapy, but a supplement.
